Designer Wings Workshop in a Private Garden in Smithfield, North Carolina

Each year, a variety of butterflies visit daily and last season's count was 27 species! This workshop meets in a private butterfly garden in Smithfield, North Carolina. If you have questions before registering, please feel free to reach out to us!

Includes: Use of the private gardens, photography technique tips (as needed), supportive image review and feedback/editing support and information in an indoor space after use of the gardens, bottled water, and a pollinator flower/plant to take home with you!

Reminders: Participants must have their own camera, camera battery, SD card, and tripod (if wishing to use one). Participants should also bring their laptop, card reader/cord, and access to editing software if interested in conducting photo review/discussion/edit support as part of the workshop. If the participant does not have laptop/editing software, the participant can still participate in photo review/discussion of their work.

Even though this workshop is Designer Wings (Butterflies), the gardens are home to Hummingbirds and Clearwing Moths (aka hummingbird moth) that have been seen on occasion. Participants are encouraged to photograph it all!
This workshop is conducted outdoors in the gardens with the photo review/discussion/edit support conducted indoors. Please be aware of the temperatures in the summer months in eastern North Carolina. Accordingly, workshop times may be adjusted for safety. Participants must understand their health and abilities prior to participating in workshop activities. This workshop will require standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and walking short distances through the garden in various warm to very hot weather at times. Bees are present in the gardens as they are also attracted to the flowers. Participants accept full responsibility and liability for their participation in this workshop.
